Fencing 101: Right
The proper form for a lunge. Note Don Antonio's arm is fully extended,
his front foot has not hit the ground yet, and his point is inches away from a clean touch.
This illustrates that all attacks should befin with extension, and that the point should land before the foot.
Also note, that Antonio's opponent's parry will have no effect on this outcome. :)
